I am dedicating my Editor's Column this month to all of the brave men and women who lay their lives on the line as firefighters and police officers throughout the Alle-Kiski Valley. We feature some of them each month in "Our Heroes" but I had an opportunity to see them in action up close and personal when a fire broke out just down the street from our Alle-Kiski Today offices. We were able to capture these heroes in action on video and with photography. A few photos of that day are posted below. This Christmas, as we are all tucked safely away in our beds, we can thank these men and women for making all our lives a lot safer as a result of their courage to be there when they are needed by their neighbors.
