This year the meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, November 24 at Kittanning Area Middle School.
The Armstrong School District Foundation and student service learning clubs are hosting this Thanksgiving luncheon for the less fortunate in Armstrong County.
Armstrong School District students, staff, teachers and administrators will serve as volunteers at the luncheon. There will be roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, cranberries and dessert.
Guests are asked to call 724-763-5214 to RSVP so that enough food can be prepared. Special arrangements may be available for those needing transportation, and those needing transportation are asked to call by Nov. 17.
Donations are also gladly accepted.
At last year’s lunch, some 62 guests were fed and 300 other meals were shipped to rest homes, ARC Manor and other organizations.
This year, the district hopes to double the number of meals that it gave out last year, according to LuAnn Fee, food and nutrition services director for Armstrong School District.
